With Saudi Arabia investing $400bn in infrastructure till 2013, the commercial furniture market is set to boom. RNCOS’ 2010 report, Saudi Arabia Furniture Market Analysis, states that “Furniture consumption is anticipated to grow at a CAGR of around 12% during 2011-2013, making the Kingdom one of the most attractive furniture markets in the Middle East.”
This timely announcement comes as Saudi Office Expo prepares to launch this year at the Jeddah Centre for Forums and Events from 12-15 December 2010.
Abanomay Furniture, who specialise in office, education and auditorium furniture, are showcasing a number of new products at Saudi Office Expo. The SDC-1 and SDC-2, an exclusive series of adjustable desks and chairs targeted at schools and universities, will be launched at the show.
Local expertise is further represented by Furniture Leaders, the Jeddah based branch of Mohammed & Ali Balubaid Company. Furniture Leaders will be showcasing their contemporary and classic designs of office furniture, displaying a wide range of desks, meeting tables, chairs and sofas.
Gibca Furniture Industry, based in Ajaman, are to launch their new H9 Transparence model of double glazed demountable partitions, for meeting rooms and executive offices at the exhibition following the success of their Hoyez glazed partition systems for office interiors in the region. The double glazed partitions offer an acoustic rating of up to 46db and can be installed with sandblasted or specialty glass to allow for light or privacy requirements.
International furniture specialists are also looking to use the exhibition as a launch pad into this lucrative market; a spokesperson representing Gibca Furniture explains, “Fairs such as Saudi office expo are an opportunity for out of Kingdom manufacturers and suppliers to gain exposure and insight into the current local market trends.”

South East Asia, often setting benchmarks in contemporary design, is also represented at Saudi Office Expo. Bristol Furniture, one of Malaysia’s leading furniture specialists, will be showcasing a range of executive tables, folding tables and desking systems for open area workstations.
